History

In 1988, Rob Lovemore bought his first crane truck, and invited his brother Bruce, who was in the Cape, to be a 50% partner in a new rigging venture. The first jobs were carried out in December and Lovemore Bros was registered as a CC in February 1989.

In the first year two new Mercedes crane trucks were added, a small yard sublet in Chamberland Road, Jacobs, and in 1990 we obtained premises in Prospecton. Rigging trucks were acquired steadily and by 1994 the fleet was seven strong.

In 1995 premises were acquired in New Germany and the company relocated. A workshop and stores were built and the existing offices renovated. During 1995 we acquired our first ERF 8x4s, which enabled the company to target a heavier market and business grew rapidly off this platform.

In 1996 the first machinery warehouse was built in New Germany which was so well accepted a second was completed, and by the close of the millenium, Lovemore dominated the KZN rigging scene with an 11 strong rigging fleet and 3000 square metres of machinery storage under one roof.

The 2000s were years of consolidation but growth and expansion picked up again in 2003 with a third machinery warehouse, low-bed equipment and truck tractors which enabled us to expand into the abnormal load business, and in 2007 a 225-ton capacity mobile hydraulic four-leg rigging gantry arrived from the United States.

Today Lovemore Bros operates a fleet of 32 heavy duty rigs, 5 warehouses and 175 staff.
