LOVEMORE BROS PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER!
THE Lovemore Bros Mechanical Projects division has reached the tail end of a substantial assembly project for a global logistics solutions provider. The project entailed the assembly of fifteen Wheel Loaders and eight Excavators, which were imported for a notable Chinese based manufacturer.
The machine parts were assembled by the Mechanical Projects technicians and millwrights. Initially transported by sea to Durban Port and then by road to Lovemore Bros’ Boksburg branch. “Each build took, on average, a day and a half,” says Lovemore Bros Technical Sales Consultant and Project Manager, Tyler Bingham.
The Wheel Loaders weigh about 25-30tons, when assembled, and the Excavators about 41tons each. More than 850tons of parts passed through Lovemore Bros’ premises during the project. “Bingham adds that the project is a first of its kind for the company as most other distributors usually ship machinery complete or have their own assembly processes within South Africa.”
