eThekwini Electricity awarded LOVEMORE BROS the contract to relocate a large transformer on site at Klaarwater Substation in Mariann Industrial Park Durban. The transformer which was badly damaged due to an electrical fire, needed to be relocated to make way for a replacement transformer. The heavy rigging team had to come up with a solution to relocate the transformer a sufficient distance from its original position to facilitate the dismantling and disposal of the burnt-out transformer. We found a combination of our Hydraulic Gantry and new APMC the perfect solution for this application. The APMC made light work of the tight turn and steep incline on site, especially considering the extremely heavy 120-ton load.
